After obtaining his medical degree, he underwent a year of training at Beaumont Hospital, one of the leading teaching hospitals in Ireland, where he worked with some of the most prominent plastic and reconstructive surgeons.
After spending five years in general surgery in Philadelphia (USA), Dr. Copty completed a fellowship in plastic surgery at one of the most advanced and busiest plastic surgery centers in the United States, under the supervision of the president of the American Academy of Plastic Surgery, a leading and influential figure in the field. During his plastic surgery fellowship, Dr. Copty performed over 1,300 surgeries using the latest techniques in this subspecialty.
