Brachioplasty

About the Surgery:
When losing weight, a number of women feel discomfort and dissatisfaction with the appearance of their arms, whether due to excessive fat accumulation or sagging skin after weight loss. Arm liposuction and lift surgery help solve this issue by achieving a more balanced body appearance.
In cases where the problem is only fat accumulation without skin sagging, treatment can be done through arm liposuction and contouring. Techniques such as VASER or J-Plasma may also be used during the same procedure to tighten the skin and prevent sagging. However, if there is significant muscle and skin sagging, especially with stretch marks present, an arm lift surgery is required, with or without liposuction. This procedure involves removing excess skin through a longitudinal incision on the inner or back part of the arm, starting from the armpit and potentially extending to the elbow, depending on the patient’s condition and the degree of sagging. In some cases, the arms can be lifted through a small incision in the armpit. The doctor selects the most suitable incision location based on body structure, sagging severity, and other factors.
Dissolvable (absorbable) sutures are used, so they do not need to be removed after the healing period. Patients are advised to stay in the hospital for one night. Showering can be resumed 48 hours after surgery. Swelling and bruising are expected for about 7-10 days. A compression garment must be worn for 2-3 weeks after the procedure, and physical activity should be avoided for the first month. The surgical scar will initially appear red but will gradually fade over time. The final results of an arm lift procedure are typically visible after three months.
