During a breast reduction surgery, a portion of the glands in the breast is removed, whereas a breast lift does not involve the same quantity of gland removal as in breast reduction.
The Difference Between Breast Lift and Breast Reduction Surgeries:
Breast lift or reduction procedures are not performed without creating incisions in the area.
In a breast lift procedure, the surgeon, in collaboration with the patient, determines the new location for the nipple. This means that the incision will be in the surrounding area of the nipple.
The skin in the area where the nipple will be lifted to is removed, and then an incision or cut is made in specific areas around the new nipple area to eliminate everything below it.
To elaborate further, incisions are made in the shape of arms on the breast, and the arms are then gathered in the area beneath the breast to achieve the desired anchor shape.
Similarly, in a breast reduction procedure, Dr. Tarek Copty follows the same aforementioned steps, resulting in a reduction in breast size.
On the other hand, in breast reduction and most breast lift surgeries, silicone implants are used to provide the desired projection. Not using silicone implants will not cause the breast to project in the upper area.
As mentioned, the key difference between these two surgeries lies in the amount of glands removed during a breast reduction procedure.
